Wipers Blades
These should be checked regularly for wear and tear. Efficient wipers are a safety must as well as a legal requirement. Smears on the windscreen or water not clearing properly are signs they should be replaced.
Fitting Wipers
- Turn the ignition off. Lift the wiper arm away from the windscreen so it locks upright. If the wiper arm won’t lock on position, just hold it away so you can take out the old blade.
- Turn the blade so it's at right-angles to the arm. See where the securing tabs are fitted and press them so you can slide the blade out of the hooked end of the arm.
- Fit the adapter to the new blade – read the instructions carefully for details.
- Fit the blade to the arm, making sure it fits properly in the arm. Lower the arm gently onto the screen. Before you drive, test the wipers.
