Loose Trim

It's fiddly to replace loose trim so secure it in the first place and save yourself a bigger job. Trim panels are held in place by adhesive tape or clips.

To replace trim stuck with adhesive tape, pull the trim off, clean away any old adhesive and use trim tape to stick it back down again.

  1. First make sure you know where the trim should go when you stick it back – mark the margins of the trim with masking tape.
  2. Cut the tape to fit the trim, line the trim up with the masking tape, take off the backing paper and starting at one end, stick the trim on.

For trim that's held in place by clips, buy new clips, then carefully release the clips around the broken one, remove the broken clip, fit the new one and put the trim back.
