Bulb Check
It's a good idea to check bulbs every week or so and before a long journey, as faulty bulbs are dangerous and illegal. It's a good idea to have a spare set of bulbs handy in the car.
- Turn the ignition on. Switch on the side lights, then walk around the car to make sure that the front and rear lights work. Check the headlights on dipped and full beam. Check the rear fog lights and any front lights or fog lights at the same time.
- Try the direction indicators and side repeater lights.
- Check the hazard warning lights, making sure that all the indicator lights and side repeater lights flash.
- Push the brake pedal to check that both brake lights work. You can check these if you can see the rear of the car in a window or ask someone to look for you.
