Chips & Scratches
- First remove any rust with the wire brush or a small piece of thin wire. Try not to damage the paintwork around the area you're treating.
- Now clean around the spot using plain water and let it dry.
- Mix the paint – usually you just have to shake a touch up stick for a few minutes. You can apply the paint with the touch up brush or, for more accuracy, a fine artists paint brush.
- Brushing in one direction, try to fill the scratch keeping the paint level with the existing paintwork. If you're applying two coats, apply the clear coat after the colour coat has fully dried.
- Leave the repaired area for a couple of days then blend the new paint into the old by rubbing it with polishing compound.
