Broken Down

You’re stuck with your car but why? Well, it could be down to one of the following problems...

  1. Your battery A flat battery – check yours for corrosion, keep it clean and dry and carry jump leads so you can get going again. Turn off your lights when you leave the car.
  2. A flat If you decide to change your flat, be very careful. Carry a jack and wheel nut spanner; practice wheel changing.
  3. No fuel Check you've got enough before you set out, and fill up if the low fuel light comes on.
  4. Overheating Check the coolant level before you go and be sure to change the coolant regularly. If it looks like you're overheating, turn up the heater and fan to the maximum; don’t carry on driving if the temperature gauge is in the red or warning light on.
